Insightful author interviews
Saturday 9 PM, Sunday 6 PM and 9 PM ET
Washington Post Book World deputy editor Jabari Asim describes the historical underpinnings of the racial epithet in his new book, The N Word: who can say it, who shouldn't, and why. Mr. Asim contends that the word should not be used in casual conversation, but that it can be engaged by a select group who intend to twist the word and progress African American identity and culture. He is interviewed by author Bakari Kitwana, a former executive editor for The Source magazine, and co-founder of the National Hip-Hop Political Convention.
