who are the insurgents????

I missed the latest memo.

I ask this because I keep seeing references here about the Iranians supporting the insurgents. This would imply they are helping the Shiites. But the Shiites currently hold the power in Iraq under Maliki and al-Sadr.

So my point is how can the Shiites be called insurgents???

But the Iranians wouldn't be supporting Sunnis. So I guess I'd have to agree with the DOD's dictionary definition: Anyone killed by the US troops.
