Is Anyone Surprised That No Other Countries Have Weighed In On This Gulf Gusher?......

Here's what I'm talking about. When there is a disaster anywhere in the world - the U.S. responds with aid, money and support. This disaster in the Gulf is a U.S. disaster and I'm just shocked that we haven't really heard anything from heads of state of other countries offering any support to help the U.S. in this time of need.

Surely there are countries out there around the North Sea as well as the UK that have knowledgeable people that might be able to help. Why haven't we heard from them?

What about the Mideast countries that have all the oil? Saudi Arabia, etc. I know they have no experience with offshore deep sea oil rigs - but surely they have knowledgeable people working for them that could potentially help.

This disaster has global implications. One would think that our foreign allies should be there offering some sort of support to the U.S.

Now I'll give you this - I haven't read everything about this disaster and maybe some countries have weighed in. If so - and anyone knows - please post that here. Thanks.

The State Department says officials are considering offers of assistance from 13 countries and the United Nations to help with the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.




U.S. neighbors Canada and Mexico are among those offering equipment and experts in containing and cleaning up the leak from the BP oil rig that exploded April 20.

State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said Wednesday that the Coast Guard is evaluating the needs of the cleanup operation and will decide what, if any, aid to accept in the coming days.

Also offering aid are Britain, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the U.N. Environmental Program.

5. IMO, that's because despite the wonderful PR thanks to the M$M ...

guided by the Pentagon PsyOps, the rest of the world either fears and/or loathes the USA.

6. They could help by making their own financial and governmental systems

more accountable and transparent. Since I think the gulf spill is a metaphor, and repairing the system has to be global, their is much that other countries can do, and are doing to correct the two tier justice and consolidations that have been happening in secret for so long.

Our response calls for ridicule. What clueless irresponsible rubes we are. They all have safety plans in place for all drilling and would never allow their coastlines to be ruined over a $500,000 part.

why hasn't the MSM picked up on any of these stories of help from other countries? Isn't it be a slap in the face to those countries that have weighed in on this with help - that we aren't accepting it? Don't you think the U.S. should at least be gracious and invite them to the table? Again - this disaster has global implications and could ultimately hurt these countries. Not accepting their help at this time - especially if this disaster goes on until the relief wells are drilled - seems to me would harm our relationships with these countries.

Seems like we have pissed off a lot of American people already with not stepping up and interceding over BP - and now we could be at a point of pissing off our allies by not accepting their aide now.
