Kyoto hypocrisy...

Listening to Minnesota Public Radio this noon, I heard a little bit of history of the Kyoto Agreement. Of course, the NeoCon talking point came up: We don't want to do anything that would cost American jobs. Well, that honorable (sarcasm).


Consider this: If the Bush* Administration is so bound to defend American jobs that might be lost to the Kyoto Treaty, why don't they make a statement or two about all of the jobs that have been sent to China and the Far East?


The hypocrisy is obvious! Please don't let Republicans force the jobs for environment argument. Its really the loss of profit!

I may be a naive idealistic American chauvinist, but I believe that if we use our Yankee ingenuity that we can actually make money and make the world a better place.

Imagine, for example, if GM and Ford had placed their emphasis on hybrids or EVs instead of gas-guzzling SUVs. They'd be rolling in dough by now, domestic employment would be up, our dependence on foreign oil would be down, and the Earth would be a much healthier planet.
