If Congress cannot see fit to put through health legislation,
Perhaps we need to send THEM a wakeup call of our own?

People are losing their health insurance, or cannot afford health insurance. Yet our representatives in the House and Senate has some of the best care in the country. Yesterday they refused to pass legislation that would allow people to buy cheaper drugs from Canada.

The only way we are going to get these bastards to do ANYTHING is to hit them in the same spot. Can we as citizens demand that the health benefits of the Senate and Congress be revoked? And NOT be re-installed until they do something for the VOTERS?

I know many will think this a preposterous idea - but they need a SERIOUS wakeup call, and the only time they seem to give a rat's ass is when they see they might be losing something out of their own pockets.

Do we have anyone on DU who might know exactly what it would entail to start demanding this? I think if we even got petitions going, and some attention from the MSM, we might just stir things enough to get some action in the right direction.

WHY should THEY be given health benefits when many of us cannot afford or are losing ours? They work for US.

3. Insurance companies will not sell me permanent health insur. because I'm unemployed.
I can afford health insurance, but being unemployed places me in a demographic pool they don't want to insure. I can get short-term 3mo./6mo. insurance, and that's it.

4. We have similar problems
Pre-Existing Conditions totally screw us from buying health insurance.

So why are WE being shat on while the Congress gets optimum care and KEEPS that care for a LIFETIME? Time to start stripping THEM of the goodies, so they can see just how BAD it is for everyone ELSE.
