Wait a minute -- I thought that everyone and his mother's dog "knew" Valerie Plame was a CIA agent

At least, that's what we've been told, both by the RW talking a$$es (like Limbaugh and Hannity), and by the milquetoast, D.C. cocktail-party circuit journalists, like Richard Cohen and Tim Russert.

So then how come in the past couple days, a) Judith Miller, who supposedly knew where all of Saddam's non-existent WMD were stashed, has testified she didn't know about Joe Wilson's wife until Libby told her in 2003; and, b) Ari Fleischer has testified that he didn't know that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent until informed by Libby, who qualified this information by saying it was all very "hush-hush". (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aROCyeohDhjM&refer=us)

Gee, this might be a stretch, and I'm sure everyone is going to be very shocked to hear it, but could it be that Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and FOX News and Robert Novak and Richard Cohen have basically been lying through their teeth when they said that "everybody in Washington D.C. knew Valerie Plame was a CIA agent; it was an open secret."

:wow:

Are you as surprised and stunned as I am?

:sarcasm:

3. My favorite RW talking point is the fact that she was listed in the who's who book.
BFD! It wasn't a secret that she existed, her occupation was the secret. Fools.

4. I don't know the answer to your question
but I sure love your characterization of Russert:

"milquetoast, D.C. cocktail-party circuit journalists, like Richard Cohen and Tim Russert."

Beautiful!

6. Everyone who knew about it would be busted.
That's the problem with spin-you're gonna get caught with lying sooner or later.
