Tweety gets chatty about hookers!

I could not believe my eyes as I read this today on the Daily Howler. Somerby is a credible source in my view. Is this Chris Matthew's "falafel moment?"

“Tough crowd tonight,” we thoughtfully said. Chris then offered us a look at the odd soul of the Washington press corps. His eyes stared past ours, scanning the Mayflower’s block-long lobby in a classic thousand-yard stare. “I just saw the most incredible prostitute,” he weirdly said. (Instead of “prostitute,” he may have said “hooker.”)

To Plotkin’s credit—again, we don’t know him—he seemed to be just as surprised as we were by Chris’ oddball comment. But Chris wasn’t through with his weird discussion; his eyes continued to scan the long hall as he said something like, “Yeah, you have to ask for the ‘pink sheet’ rooms when you check in.” (Not an exact quote.) At no point did Plotkin seem to think that this was a recognizable topic. For ourselves, we’d have to say it was the strangest thing any man has ever said to us. No, it simply isn’t our experience that men make such weird comments to other men—much less, to men whom they barely know. Men like Matthews apparently think that this is standard male discussion. (We googled and Nexised “pink sheet” the next day. We found no usage which conformed to what Chris had said.)

2. I don't know whether to laugh or send it to Crooks and Liars.

It seems similar to the O'Reilly scandal. I guess he could claim his notorious ill-health made him say it or he was misunderstood...

But after the witchhunt his crowd engaged in on Bill Clinton, I think a story of Tweet's infidelity is fair game. I hope someone will ask him to comment on the record about it.

4. I first documented his lechery a couple-or-more years ago:

When M-TV held its 20th or 25th or whatever anniversary, and all the cable echo chambers were doing segments of Britney shedding her duds down to almost nothing. Not to be left behind, Tweety followed suit, with a guest "culture" commentator from Time Mag, the young humor columnist, Joel STEIN. The staff kept re-running the Britney clip, and Tweety was clearly DROOLING disgustingly. STEIN said, "You're beginning to creep me out." Tweety responded, "Yeah, well, wait till YOU're 50." This led to the suggestion that "Tweety" be modified to "Tweezer" to retain the hair reference while canceling out the affection factor and also adding the (dirty old) "geezer" angle.

9. I think Tweezer's problems have little to nothing to do with his diabetes.

My husband is Type I (his pancreas does NOt produce insulin at all - like childhood onset) and most often, the only effect high blood sugars reveal is "an oppressive feeling" like a weight on his chest. Each high and low may come with their own disturbing side effects and they are not always constant among peoples or with time among the same person, i.e., enter the insulin pump. ;)

Tweezer has always had periods of manic-speak. IMO, it's part of his persona, not a side effect of his diabetes. :shrug:

10. Son's 5 th anniversary with type 1 in March this year. He gets very chatty

at 300, as he comes down we can tell as he is less chatty.Of course this is just him, and not for others. He checks his BG 8-10 times a day. by the way we just got the CGMS for his pump and used it, very accurate and worth the 900+ for it.

11. Husband's been Dx with Type I for 14 years

He checks his blood about 4-5 times a day and has not desired to get the pump yet. After 14 adult years of dealing with Type I, he's been quite fortunate and successful at *sensing* his highs and lows. However, within the first two years, I had to revive him with glycogen shots 4 times. When someone gets a hypo and passes out of conscious it's a real significant emotional event for us loved ones. :scared:

But in Tweezer's case, if he's wise he would monitor his blood sugars close before he goes on air. He's been manic so often, I find it hard to believe it's a side effect of either a high or low glycemic event, but only Tweets knows for sure. ;) :hi:

13. good that you could help your husband, but great that you are so accepting of his having type 1,

our son is 18 now, no seizures or need for glucagon shots. His first year of college and still doing well. the pump is great, and not to hard to adjust to. its nice that you can switch from Lantus shots to the novolog via pump when you want to.

For me, I'm usually only chatty if I have a rather LOW blood sugar. I think everyone's different on this..

Moreover, is this a fact that Tweety has type 1 diabetes? This is the first I've heard of this; where did you find out about this?

a licking" if it helped Hillary win the WH? (on Hardball tonight) Sharpton's comment was an innocent figure of speech (maybe not the best choice of figures), but Tweety took it and ran with it, and made sure that it was turned into a reference to oral sex. I guess Tweety's still not over judging Miss America last night.
