Why are Pelosi's comments about Iraq being whitewashed???
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 10:38 PM by Breeze54
I've heard her speak today on PBS Newshour and on various news tv stations and what
she said on camera and what has been written in the WP and others is NOT what she said!!

:WTF: ???? I've been searching for 15 minutes to get the scoop on her words
and they don't even come close to the live comments!!

Does anybody have what she said today on video??

It's not here... http://www.pbs.org/newshour/

I already checked WP because that's the only 'story' that came up
and even their title has changed!!!!

Pelosi Offers Glum War Assessment Following Iraq Trip - Washington Post - 5 hours ago

The above is the title when I do a search BUT...

.......this is what comes up below!

Democrats Agree to Iraq Panel :wtf:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/30/AR2007013001085.html

There is a video of Pelosi on that link....

VIDEO | House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, (D-Calif.),
a leading critic of the adminstration's approach in Iraq,
said that on a recent visit to Iraq, her delegation saw
no sign that U.S. efforts were advancing.

What she said was ..."NO END IN SIGHT! CHAOS!!!"

:grr: :grr:

1. Because the WH and the MSM are trying one last ditch effort
to close down the Democratic voices and the rest of the opposing voices. It's too late especially with the Libby trial and the truth on how they have manipulated the MSM.

2. I've wanted to know the same thing. She gave a press conference and
nothing. No coverage on the news.

7. She looks wiped out....
I get the feeling that she saw something horrific or maybe she's just got jet lag...
But I get the 'sense' from this video, that she's really angry and upset.
She seems really 'floored' by what she saw there.

9. White House spin
I think it's White House spin. They talk about congressional aides, then quote the White House. I think the White House got to the reporters who are reporting their story line instead of the facts.

"President Bush and Democratic congressional leaders agreed Tuesday to form a "bipartisan working group" on Iraq and the broader war on terror to try and improve the dialogue between the White House and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, according to White House and congressional aides.

The breakthrough came after a "good phone conversation" between the president and the two Democratic leaders Tuesday afternoon, according to White House spokeswoman Dana Perino."

11. So...
what you're saying is that AFTER her press conference, they convinced
her to scratch her comments from her press conference?
Not that I'm amazed that it could happen....but...
that was damn quick and now I'm even MORE pissed off!! :grr:

www.rawstory.com or www.whatreallyhappened.com should
have the actual sound bytes.... maybe?

14. No
I don't know what happened, first.

It looks to me as if she had a press conference, I saw a bit of it this afternoon. I was watching the hearing on my computer at the same time. Anyway, then at some point today, she also spoke to the White House.

After both those events, the White House issued a press release about their bipartisanship.

I'm guessing that the words were chosen by the media to downplay her outrage, at the pressure of the White House.

But I don't know.
