Cannabis drug may help fight obesity

Several other companies, such as Sanofi-Aventis, which is investigating Acomplia, are working on new drugs that will switch off the brain circuits that make people hungry when they smoke cannabis.

GW Pharma, however, says it has derived a treatment from cannabis that could help suppress hunger. "The cannabis plant has 70 different cannabinoids in it and each has a different affect on the body," GW Managing Director Justin Gover told Reuters in a telephone interview.

5. personally, i think that there's a connection between smoking weed and cholesteral.

i have been a CHRONIC wedhead for about 30 years now, and i smoke on average an ounce/week, just myself. i do not drink ANY alcohol, and i have never been a tobacco user in any form. my cholesteral level isn't an issue- most of my friends have been prescribed some type of drug to keep theirs in check(none of them smoke pot). my blood pressure always just fine as well, and i had a chest x-ray this year, which my doctor described as being clean as a whistle.

7. The reason for stoners getting the "munchies" is really very simple.....

Marijuana causes your blood sugar to drop. Along with all the other medical uses that it's already known for, they really should research it for use in treating diabetes. If you can't get to insulin, take a bong hit.... but then DON'T hit the junk food stash!

actually,we have given marinol to our aids patients with failure to thrive...and I know many aids patients who smoke weed to stimulate their appetites...hmmm
