Expert substitution of Shirley Sherrod for Mark Williams as the racial talking points lightening rod
Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 08:14 AM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
The focus moved from Tea Party and its (real)racist to the NAACP and its (phony) racist in the wink of an eye

With Sherrod the fake news meisters got 3 villains for the price of one:
*The Obama administration for having the anti-white oppressor in a position of power in the USDA

*The NAACP for having Sherrod speak, thus obviously condoning her "let's all suppress whitey" viewpoint and furthering their
(the fakemeisters) plans for an ACORN like demise of the NAACP

*and of course poor Shirley Sherrod herself.

Plus, the fakemeisters got to make black racism the topic as opposed to white racism. They really like to do this because then it gives them the "aren't we all really racists?" umbrella, furthering racial divides and intolerance.

1. Thanks for that little nugget of analysis.
I think you're dead on. It is a classic Roveian maneuver. Like when they turned the AWOL story into an attack on Dan Rather.

2. Rarely have I read a post that so concisely summarizes the situation
My question is how come you and I understand this and yet the geniuses in the White House somehow fail to see what fools they are being played for.

You had to be blind not to have seen this coming. Didn't they learn anything from ACORN?

Oh well, you know the old saying - fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, er um. uh, CAN'T GET FOOLED AGAIN!

3. Yes, it was an obvious move that they don't deny. It may have backfired though n/t

4. yup, it backfired
Nobody but their own kind will continue to take them seriously. Short term, this might have helped them. Long term, it hurt them big time.

6. Fool me once (ACORN), shame on you
Fool me twice - uhhh - can't get fooled again!

Why oh why can't I just type that the correct way! Bush ruined that expression forever.

Anyway, the point stands - a good many people will be hesitant to believe anything that Faux "News" reports - especially on the topic of race & Democrats, where it's crystal clear that they have a horse in the race. I hope this mushrooms into a big scandal for them - there's a lot of news cycle left to this week :)

10. Only partly backfired...
...because even now that she has been exonerated, the story is still all about her. The Mark Williams letter has completely fallen off the news cycle, and I doubt it will be resurrected.

Sad.

7. And, of course, now that Sherrod has been exonerated, ...
... rather than attack Breitbart and Faux, they attack the Obama admin for letting her go. The Obama admin was wrong, but not nearly as bad as as Breitbart and Faux.

11. Always seems to.
Say Glenn Beck and our Dems head for the hills apparently.

The upside is that hopefully Breitbart is through being a source anyone would use.

By the way - who gave Breitbart the edited video? That's where the story should move to now.
