McClellan: Media is so afraid of being called liberal that it is impossible for it to be truthful
Between the 'liberal' media's response to Michael Hastings exposing the command in Afghanistan ("Destroy Hastings!!!") and the copy and paste job by Breitbart, this seems very relevant:

"With the release of the 2008 book What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception by George W. Bush's press secretary Scott McClellan, McClellan admits to lying to the media, and describes the contempt he felt for reporters who so easily believed his lies, and were cowed by the fear that if they exposed the lies, they would be accused of "liberal bias"."

Dear media: Maybe the reason why you have less ratings than Fox "News" is because the media isn't supposed to nod and say "Yes, yes, yes." to whatever those in power say.

You're supposed to be the real news, start acting like it. You know; ask questions, muckrake, do some REAL investigating instead of just believing that cut and paste video without question, etc.

Start acting like the real news.

1. The Corporate Media made the decision to be entertainment rather
Edited on Thu Jul-29-10 09:02 AM by OHdem10
than news. This gives them an out. When people are
polled on their opinion of News Media they are way down
there,

Programs are set up to avoid the truth.

Host put up a so called Democrat and a Republican. Each
give their spin. There is no one there to point which
side was right (correct) or if neither was correct.
The truth is not even sought. THIS contributes to the
division in the country. People choose sides instead
having the truth.

Please stop giving them cover by saying they fear being
called Liberal. START CALLING THEM WHAT THEY ARE: Right
Wing Hacks schilling for Republicans. They fear their
corporate bosses. Corporations prefer Republicans because
Republicans look out for their interests. The Media is
not going against the people who write their checks.

2. The media so afraid of being called liberal is akin to Dems being afraid they'd soil their pants if
labeled soft on communism, crime, drugs, terra or weak on national defense thereby effectively allowing Repubs to set the national agenda, including taxes and wars: and we can all see where this has brought us to in our life as a nation and Republic. :P

3. And Scott would know.
He willingly participated in a campaign of disinformation to mislead the media.

4. Except I don't believe it's possible to mislead a person or institution; that wants to be mislead.
It would be like trying to mis-lead Hugh Hefner in to looking at nude women.

5. That only took a little more than ten years to completely change the
American media.
