It would be one thing to be talking metaphorically to relatively normal people; it's something else to be putting homicidal imagery into the heads of wingnut loonies. Kinda like going onto the psych ward, telling the paranoid schizophrenics that God wants them to kill Commie liberals, and then sending them out into the world without their medications.

But often we try to be "truer than truth," channeling people's essence, implying what they would say if they lacked the filter of self-consciousness that would let them know when they have gone too far or have become too apparent.

In the OP, I tried to satirize Beck's bogus anti-violence, fueling the flames of heat and rage 80% of the time while polishing his halo for 5% (the other 15% is pure Goldline!) (By the way, this lover of non-violence has a large cache of weapons--he's a survivalist--and speaks at the NRA.)

So . . . you suspect correctly, the attributed quote is creative. But does there not burn a deeper truth?

in total, and then mostly only on screens in public places where I was involuntarily exposed to him. I really don't watch TV, which makes me a very dyssocial person in this culture. I never know what the hell people are chattering about. For another example, I have heard of "American Idol," but really don't know what it's about.
