When Bush was President there was a bunch of writing about how fascism was coming and how we should all be alarmed and take action. Now that Obama is President there is a bunch of writing (and TV and radio which we had much less of on the left, but some, particularly with Air America) about how socialism is coming and how we should all be alarmed and take action.

Right now, Dems should be hammering home on a daily basis that this entire economic debacle was a Republican Deregulation creation.

Now that Democrats control both houses and the presidency the wars have continued and expanded, the patriot act remains unopposed, gays are discriminated against, and there is no indication that this will change any time soon.
