If Pubs win their repeal of the 14th amendment, we ALL could be
ruled as non-citizens! The Indians were here. It's THEIR LAND! Rande Rhodes was just ranting about this, and she said "BE CAREFUL BILLBRAY". Apparently Brian is one of the idiots who want to repeal the 14th amendment that guarantees citizenship for anyone born in the US. If you really think about that, none of us are citizens if they repeal that.

1. There is no way in hell that anyone could win enough votes to
repeal the 14th amendment.

3. They don't want to repeal the 14th Amendment, they want to extend it to fertilized egg cells.
It's a cornerstone of their plan to criminalize all fucking for non-procreative purposes. Won't happen.

And if they include the nonfertilized ones, will someone in Congress Actually introduce the Every Sperm is Sacred Act?

5. That's probably next.
Really, to be consistent, that's what they need to do.

6. We are one of the few nations that do this so one has to wonder what would happen if we did not
There is little honest discourse on this since it is so full of emotion on both sides.

7. Really? Only a few? The only one I inow of for sure is Japan.
I know they do because my SIL had two children whild living with her husband in the marines and stationed in Japan. Both children retained dual citizenship until they were 18 yo. I honestly thought many more countries had that same comitment.

15. Yes, but I chose to offer no editorial comment at that time.
As you succinctly noted, there is little honest discourse on this since it is so full of emotion on both sides.

10. Look, we're already mandated to be serfs to the health insurance industry at this point --
Even the 13th Amendment has gone out the window (anyone remember the "badge of slavery"??? And how the 13th was supposed to put a stop to that kind of stuff?)

11. people don't bother thinking about the implications of such a thing.
they think, i was born here. i am an american citizen. this doesn't affect me. but it does. just like the az law.... they think, it doesn't affect me because i am not hispanic. but the fact is that such a law makes it possible for anyone to be questioned about their status. so blonde blue eyed white girl from california could be asked to provide proof of citizenship just as easily as jose from new mxico. and if you don't carry your papers around with you (as most don't) then your ass would be sitting in jail. but i am an american!!! you can't do this to me. of course they can. now as far as taking away citizenship, i can see how wrong that could go. especially with the crazy mob mentality going on. how easily we could go down a very bad road. and people would do it willingly, because as an american we are pompous and presumptious people. we assume that we would always be fine. no one wants to take our citizenship away. but once you open that door, then you better watch out because it would be just as easy to take your citizenship away as it would someone who's parents came from mexico and had kids here.

14. I'm all for ANY remedy including second amendment ones to combat this
I consider any such effort an act of war on me and any person they deem unacceptable. I will not relinquish my birth right not even for peace.
