Chris seemed a bit uncomfortable

the first few times he guest hosted
but this past week when given a lengthy stretch, he did great, even when there were technical glitches that were not his fault. He dealt with them cleanly. And he gives the mic to some bona fide progressives who normally don't get a national spotlight.
