It's their adjacent colors that are different, and our brains "compensate" for that, which results in both spirals seeming to have different colors. If you don't believe me, use an image editor to blow it up, take a sample of the "green" spiral, note its RGB values, and then take a sample of the "blue" spiral.

The RGB values are the same.

I love this stuff.

I've looked and looked at them, squinted my eyes, looked away and looked back real fast -- nothing I've done has set them in motion. The most I get is a bit of mild vibration in the centers of the circles, but no spinning whatsoever.

It's definitely not color-blindness.

I've always been very quick to deconstruct tromp-l'oiel images -- but usually I at least *see* the illusion before I *un-see* it. This one I just can't *see* in the first place.
