1. Thanks for posting this.

We've been getting bits and pieces of the story here, but I figured that there was going to be some sort of twist to the story once more info. leaked out.

Central PA is not exactly the most enlightened place in this country. The amount of overt racism and anti-government rhetoric has picked up a lot of steam since the 2008 election.

The same people who had no problem with the idiot son and the heartless one have gone over the edge now that the government is "suddenly" out of control. I thought that it was out of control after starting two wars and declaring war on the middle class, but the Tea Party seemed to be fine with that....go figure.

2. I get the Patriot-News. It has had some rather large articles on this story.

The killing was only a couple miles from me, and in my county. They're speculating that he fabricated the "overthrow the government" story to support his claim that he "found" the dead man and just took his rifle. Of the three guns they caught him with, one has been identified as the dead man's gun and another as a gun that was stolen from the same practice range earlier this year. The third gun is suspected to be the murder weapon but they are waiting for the results of ballistics tests before making that claim.

8. Some Right Wing gun forums are speculating this is a set-up by the

federal government to excuse arrests of "patriots", that is armed groups who want to overthrow the US government because they didn't like how the election turned out.

The assholes are all over this - I keep looking for real news on it, but have seen nothing new since the article this morning.

10. This story is already 4 days old

I happened to spot it Saturday night & post it here & I sent emails to CNN, a Salon reporter who had covered the CA shooter targeting Tides(he did write about this one), TPM, Huffington Post & others. The only reason I was following it was because it happened in my state & as a gun owner I'm familiar with State Game Lands shooting ranges. The locals were at first trying to blame it on "gangbangers" or wannabees out shooting.

Heck the story here didn't get any attention here Saturday night. When I posted in LBN Sunday it finally got some play.

I intend to keep an eye on this one and the RW'er who was targeting Tides & ACLU.

You can bet if these 2 guards or the CA shooter were New Black Panthers or even black Faux & then MSM would've been all over it 24/7.

12. That's hogwash. The guy they arrested is simply a nut.

The guy he KILLED was a gun expert and top marksman. They had a fairly lengthy article today, but there wasn't any "new" information in it. As it stands, he's been charged with murder (and other crimes including theft), and the guy who stored the guns for him was released on bail but facing charges. They both have a court date coming up soon.

I still agree with the police speculation that he fabricated the militia story so he could claim he is only guilty of theft, not murder as well. The next real news will probably be the results of the ballistics tests and I haven't seen an estimate as to when they will come back. If the third gun isn't the murder weapon, they'll have a more difficult time at the trial.

I've seen the bullshit about the government setting him up. Anyone pushing that obviously doesn't know anything about the story other than "someone was murdered and they're blaming it on a gun-nut".

I say "were" because I assume they are in custody now...

7. I have not seen a damn thing about this on ANY TV news since 4:30 AM...

MSNBC is on right now, and it has not been mentioned at all.
I am in Eastern PA, and have been watching news on 3 different channels - not a peep.

9. This is another one of those stories under the radar

Just like the shooter in CA who was on his way to attack ACLU & Tides, latter which was a frequent target of Beck.

This one probably won't go anywhere unless the accomplice out on bail spills on what militia group if Peake is telling the truth or the Feds get involved or till court hearings then trial.

This is going to be one I'm going to periodically google to see if any new info.
