RE: Texas Woman’s University’s Post-9/11 GI BILL Policy, effective August 15, 2010.
Texas Woman’s University (TWU) has updated its policy regarding the Post-9/11 GI Bill payment
requirement and veteran’s enrollment certifications. The new policy will increase enrollment certification
efficiency and create manageable VA billing and payment procedures. As always, TWU’s institutional
commitment to serving our military active duty, veteran, and dependent students remains a top priority.
Effective fall 2010, students using the Post-9/11 GI Bill will be required to pay at least the minimum
required tuition payment by the first published payment deadline for each semester. After the university
is reimbursed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with the Post-9/11 GI Bill benefit, any excess
credit due the student will be refunded:
http://www.twu.edu/onecard.Recipients of the Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits have the option to pay in full or make the first tuition payment
(25%) and enroll in the payment plan by the published deadline to hold their class schedule. Benefit
recipients eligible for 100% tuition coverage who choose to use the payment plan will have the payment
plan enrollment and late payment fees waived as long as they have submitted their Certification of
Eligibility letter to the TWU Veterans Program Office on or before the first published payment deadline
for each semester. Students with only partial benefit eligibility who choose the payment plan option will
be responsible for all payment plan fees.
VA Enrollment Certifications will no longer be submitted on a weekly basis. The TWU Veterans
Program Office will submit enrollment certifications 30 days before the term start date and then provide
monthly enrollment status updates to the VA during the semester.
