It takes the movie forget the name of it, it is a old movie that started cinema and is very racist, it created much controversy, I also heard it helped form the concept of fighting for racial equality through organizations, so there is always that. An old black and white thought of as the first movie to use many current movie effects.
However the show I saw that talked about that I think is actually wrong, Orson Wells gets many credits for creation of many effects also. So I think some of Orson's films are more relevant but that is just a personal decision that might have a bias also.
In that movie a white person was so scared about a black person she jumped off a clip.
Note that in truth it was the persons fear, not something to fear that caused that issue.
But anyways there are many people that jump off cliffs because of irrational fear. you can see the cliff metaphor in many films. I liked the one in new Star Trek film where Kirk jumped out of car, and only the car went off cliff.
Interestingly the 'off the cliff' metaphor is used in other places with different meanings, most notably in Newman/Redford film where they jump off the cliff, but into water, a notable difference, and for different reasons.
But the 'off the cliff' is a really old metaphor since it is such a visual representation of rapid loss leading to something bad (unless there is water)
