Mountaintop removal has caused irreversible harm!

A group of scientists presented research in Pittsburgh Tuesday about the environmental impact of mountaintop removal mining, claiming that the practice had irreversibly harmed Appalachian ecosystems, damaging streams and increasing the risk of flooding.

Er, so to speak.

No mention of heavy metal contamination at the source of many municipal water supplies not to mention the effects on the water table and downstream wildlife. Oh native brook trout populations, Hellbenders, mayflies, there are too many species to name. Mud slides. The list goes on and on.
