Barn collapses, killing two during heavy storms
Thousands lose power; semis blow over
A line of vicious storms blew through the Columbus area this afternoon, causing a building collapse at a Licking County egg farm that killed two people. Six people are missing.
High winds toppled tractor-trailers, downing trees and ripped shingles off roofs. Thousands are without power.
The Licking County sheriff's office reported that a hen building had collapsed, with people trapped, near Johnstown. The building on Croton Road is part of Ohio Fresh Eggs' farm in Hartford. Authorities said there were two people dead and there were reports of six people missing in the rubble.
Dan Perkins, who lives near the egg farm, said one building was almost destroyed, one was severely damaged and 15 to 20 other buildings had damaged roofs.
