Kathryn Chapman took a trip to the annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Big Time celebration last weekend, and she was shocked to see a shooting game with President Barack Obama as the target.

***** "I just can’t believe how far things have come that now on church property you can shoot the president and get a prize if you hit him in the head or heart," said Chapman, a Medford, Mass., resident who last lived in Roseto the year President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. She was in town for a family reunion.

Even though the game shows a black man dressed in a suit, holding a scroll labeled "health bill" and wearing a belt buckle that features the presidential seal, Goodtime Amusements President Irvin L. Good Jr. said the image does not portray President Obama.

*****Good reports speaking to two people with complaints about the game. Of one complainant, he said, "She said she was offended by it. I said if you are, you might want to be. But you’re interpreting it as being Obama. We’re not interpreting it as Obama."

25. The facts are not similar in the two cases. Bush was coming to that

guys town the next day and it could have been seen as a legitimate threat under Brandenburg v. Ohio. Further, his defense was not that he did not mean to threaten the President, but rather, that his speech was protected by the 1st amendment. Far cry from shooting what looks to be an airsoft "gun" at a painted picture of the President.

Further, whom should be getting the talking to by the SS? The carnival? The people who shot the airsoft balls at the picture of the President? Both?

was that they should be charged but you have since backed off to a talking to. I suppose the police can investigate all they want and if some 'person of interest' is dumb enough to talk to the SS then they deserve what they get. If they want to talk to me or enter my home/place of business they better have a warrant. Although I don't generally engage in this type of behavior no matter who is the President.

This event should undoubtedly be DUed -- although it looks like the locals are on it, which is a good thing. I took the poll, and 70% of respondents agree with us. The complete report link at the bottom of this article calls the reaction "a firestorm," which is also good. Someone wrote a LTTE saying the "game" sends the wrong message.

President Obama target game gets feds' attention

The Secret Service is investigating a Hellertown amusement company's use of a target-shooting game that challenged players to hit the heart and head of an image resembling President Barack Obama.

Cindy Wofford, special agent in charge of the Philadelphia office of the Secret Service, said her agents are looking into the game and will determine if there were any direct or indirect threats to the president. They will share their findings with the U.S. attorney's office.

"We take these kinds of things very seriously," Wofford said.
