One is the real world, that is one of fear, desperation and inadequacy. This is where most of us live. Unless you meet some ideal demographic, or have a shit load of money in the bank, you are somehow classified as "less than". As long as some of us aren't free, none of us are free.
The other is a fantasy world, where none of its inhabitants worry about the state of their own basic needs, or even their own identities. It's a world in which court intrigues and petty politics are given the highest priority and the rest of us are invited to cheer from afar, all in lieu of our own ordinary lives.
But, today in California, a little bit of justice prevailed and for a few folks in this country, fantasy can be converted to reality.
Today gay people have stepped just a little bit closer to being validated as real.
Today we are all just a little more free.
