http://AmericanCitizensInc.comOn this day August 5, 2010 @ 7:10PM, this is a public declaration that it is the intention of the party responsible for this site’s inception to start a corporation the purpose of which is to remedy the usurpation of public participation and representation in the Federal government of the United States. This corporation will allow share holders to enjoy not only the rights of citizenship but those safety measures and privileges granted by incorporation.
The citizen at large is being pushed further and further out in to the margins by the corrupting power and influence of the multibillion dollar, multinational corporation. The recent ruling in Citizens United v. the Federal Election Commission makes it clear that those entrusted with representing the People of this once great land are in the pockets of corporate power.
Election processes are controlled by private interests that stand to reap benefits by negotiating with candidates and manipulating secretive electronic procedures to guarantee election outcomes.
The corporate media continues to consolidate and maximize its power by taking over and merging with other media companies thereby controlling the flow of information and the message it conveys.
It will be a matter of time until the Internet becomes another casualty of predatory capitalism. Trust busting and the protection of citizens from the powerful manipulation and influence of private power is a thing of the past.
Both parties are complicit in this charade of creating the impression, the illusion that there is any real competition between them. In order to keep the public fooled, Democrats blame Republicans and Republicans blame Democrats for outcomes that are already determined by corporate benefactors.
The behavior of the Democrats during the Bush administration was impotent without question. Now it is clear, after securing solid majorities and having a Democratic President, that they have no intention of serving the will of the people that put them there. The will of the People that said in no uncertain terms “we want change”.
Everyday private citizens lose a little more of what small power they have as the malignant tumor of private interests engulfs our nation’s Capital. We can not use the same tools that we have for generations. We must develop new ways to protect ourselves. One of those ways is to meet this corporate Leviathan head on!
Corporate power had already enjoyed the same rights and privileges as We The People, as each corporation is composed of individual citizens able to vote and contribute to their causes and candidates. Now, with the new Supreme Court ruling, they have more than doubled that representation and that power. Under no rational and sensibly tempered mindset is such a decision justifiable.
Join us to put back the “People” in We The People.
