A clean-cut right-wing religious conservative was standing next to a long-haired hippy discussing the overturning of California's Prop 8.

"Can you believe what those activist homosexuals have done? They're flaunting God's laws!" said the conservative Bible-thumper.

"You really think so?" asked the hippy.

"Of course! Don't you?" asked the conservative.

"Show me what it is that America's gay couples want, exactly," demanded the hippy. Proudly, the conservative pulled out his own marriage certificate, embossed with the Seal of ____ County, and the County Clerk's signature at the bottom.

After looking at the document for a moment, the long-haired hippy turned to the clean-cut fellow and said to him, "Render unto the government that which is the government's, and to God that which is God's." The conservative was completely floored by the hippy's response, and blamed the liberal media and Nancy Pelosi for the strange fellow's brainwashed condition.
