They just don’t get it. What’s worse, they don’t have any desire (or the nerve) to get it or to understand. Topping that, they would not understand, even if it were spelled out to them at the 5th-grade level. My favorite senator, from Arizona, said during a heated debate "A friend told me never wrestle a pig. You both get dirty and the pig likes it." Funny? I like it.

It is the sound of an old world war two fighter pilot still fighting, this time for his political life. A man who honorably served his country, and still serves.

I think the smartest thing the president ever did was to make Biden his vise president. No one wants to see him take over the president’s job. After big Joe is Nancy! Can you imagine either one running this country.

Just when it seemed Barack Hussein Obama had apologized enough or toadied enough to Muslims – bowing to Saudi big shots, etc. – he’s at it again. Or, so says retired Marine Maj. General Charles Bolden, the new NASA administrator, in an interview with terrorist TV al-Jazeera.

He told them in an interview during his tour of the Middle East that Obama directed him as "perhaps foremost" charge to "find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good abut their historic contribution to science … and math and engineering."

Arizona is crying out for help in case you haven’t heard. On Tuesday, Aug. 24, the Republican primary will take place in Arizona. It’s John McCain vs. J.D. Hayworth. I know this is Texas, but we need to have a heart for Arizona in their time of need. What do they need?

They need our support to retire Senator John McCain from his position as one of the leading destroyers of America and the Republican Party. How he became the 2008 Republican Presidential candidate is beyond me.

I guess republicans must have overdosed on their prescription sleeping pills. J.D. Hayworth and the people of Arizona need our help and they need it now.

McCain was Mr. Amnesty in 2008 and he still is today in spite of whatever he might say during the campaign. A chameleon will change to any color needed to hide the reality from you. You see, John McCain seems to have a hard time answering questions and telling the truth. That happens when you are trying to cover up a lie.

2. The Muslims were genius chemists.

And in the Middle Ages when Europe was burning witches for turning milk sour, anyone who was interested in scientific innovation headed for Arab territory. That's where all the real thinking and experimentation was happening.

I don't see how it can hurt international relations or America's standing in the world to recognize that.

3. i have worked with many muslims.

I had one doctor bring me a copy of the Koran...and we spent many times just reviewing some of the beautiful prose and sentiment.I could never be a Moslem,but I respected his openness and kindness.

4. You're confusing a good man with his religion.

Good people are pretty much all the same. They take an understanding of their faith that not even the faith itself always takes.

When I was a child an elderly Polish farmer made a huge impression on me. He was being interviewed through an interpreter on TV. He was here in America on a vacation paid for by the Jews who had hid in his cellar during the war. He was asked why he had risked his life for strangers. I loved his answer. It's still in my heart and my memory. His answer was: "I had to. I'm a Catholic."

You had the good fortune to meet a great many good people who happened to be Muslim. Most people are wonderfully good and decent no matter what their religion is.

BTW, did he bring the Koran because you asked to see it?

5. yes...to be honest-I had no idea what the Koran was.

and,yes...they may have very well been the exceptions to the rule.

and I agree with you...unfortunately,I am surrounded by the opposite end of the spectrum...Christians who claim to love God...but deny help to the others who may need it.good point-well taken.

7. I wasn't trying to say he was an exception.

In fact, I think the rule tends more to the good. What we have to do is remember that even people who believe things we don't like can be kind and decent. We're all trying to survive. If we think someone else is hurting us or those we love, we can get really mean.

Mostly, we'd all like to be able to be unafraid. Religion helps with that.

But the world we know is about to be swept away. We're none of us sure of the best way to keep going. The more frightened we get, the worse we'll get.

But there will always be some people who are all love no matter what the terrors.
