This is going around on the labor lists.
I am sure a lot of us know who Anne Feeney is and the enormous contribution she brings to the union movement in the United States and around the world. If you are not sure or remember who Anne is - here is some background information on her:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_FeeneyA lot of folks in the union movement around the world received an email today from Anne. She has fallen on some bad health, and she needs our help. The email I received had this link:
http://fellow-travelers-advisory.blogspot.com/2010/08/sad-health-news-from-anne-feeney-can.htmlAnne is an enormous inspiration to a lot of us working for fairness in the workplace. She is a musician, a lawyer, a mother and wife, and she has dedicated her life to our work in the unions. She is a long-time member of the IWW and AFM.
Please take a moment to go to her blog post. If you or your union can afford $50 bucks, it will go a long way for her. The information to help out is on that blogspot page.
If you or your union cannot send her some funds toward her doctor bills, perhaps you can forward this note (or write one yourselves) and pass it on to everyone you know.
Anne has helped so many of us over the years, now we have a chance to help her out.
