Are Neocons deliberately destroying America's Economy for gain?
Edited on Mon Aug-09-10 11:17 AM by Cal33
It looks like the NeoCons's policy is to deliberately destroy the American economy
right now by doing whatever they can to make joblessness and the national deficit
worse, and then blame it all on Obama and the Democrats. These people would
let many Americans die, just so that they could get back into power. where
they could cause still more damage -- a la Bush, who started this downward turn to
begin with. Human beings are no more to them than tools to be used, and then
discarded when their usefulness is over.

The above could be the reason why they are blocking simply everything Obama and
the Dems. are trying to accomplish. Their saying "NO" to everything has reached
the point of total senseless absurdity. If this isn't sick, what is?

1. Of course. They can afford to ride out the downturn.
Then when Democrats fall, they win.

Easy peasy.

That's why we need regulations that change that.

them are making profits (mostly unethical profits) at this very time.

4. It's beyond destroying the economy, it's about destroying the nation
The notion that as a nation we stand together and willingly work to maintain and develop things that are at some social or geographic distance has evaporated. Some would say that the erosion began with Reagan, some would say earlier, but sure it has een going on since the resurrection of the politics of grand-standing brought about by Gringrich's contract on America.

more than a sheet of paper. The Neocons want to destroy this nation
and change it into one of their own making - a fascist dictatorship.

5. And You Know The Sad Thing About This Is There Will Be A High Percentage Of Americans........
falling for this ruse and re-vote the Repugs back into power. We all know that the MSM won't help out Obama and the Dems and tell the right story. They will obfuscate and contribute to the demise of the Dems and the nation. I'm just sick about this - because I'm afraid the Repugs strategy will work. We need to do everything in our power to not lose the House and Senate in 2010 and re-elect Obama in 2012.

37. Sociopaths are by nature incapable of putting themselves

into another's shoes. Their moral and emotional development have been arrested at
the level of the small child. They only know what they want, and nothing
else. And what they want is money and the power that goes with money. The
sufferings that another might have to go through to get that money and
power means nothing to the sociopath -- as long as he, himself, is not
going through the misery and the suffering.

13. What made America so special was that the difference
between the highest and the lowest incomes was the least in the 1960s and 1970s.
Today, the difference is again among the highest. Thanks to the Neocons.

18. Your post reminds me of Charlie Brown cartoons
where Lucy keeps pulling the football away at the last minute when Charlie Brown tries to kick it. He wants to believe in her good nature, and she makes a fool of him again and again.

Neocons, or whatever you want to call the people who have gained so much power, literally are laughing all the way to the bank because enough people want to believe their lies. They say one thing and do another. They are expert con-men and women, that somehow convince the populace that they care. Their success in convincing Republicans to vote against their own interests is actually awe inspiring. These corporate powers have corrupted Democrats too.

I don't want to believe people can be this corrupted, that human life is not worth anything to them. Yet I think their prosperity has put them in an alternative universe bubble that insulates them from reality. I think it is like a drug. Still trying to figure them out. :7 But they are not fit for office.

25. Those who follow the political ideologies of Leo Strauss,
Irving Kristol... et al. .. who are considered to be the founders of Neoconversativism.
Among other things, they recommended lying to the masses in order to gain political
control. Deceit and pathological lying are some of the best-known traits of sociopaths.
And of course, they joined the Neocons by the droves. They have finally found their own
true home.

These Neocons joined the Republican Party in the 1960s and onwards, worked within the
party, and usurped the power of the erstwhile Republican leaders and threw them out.
However, they continue to use the Republican name because they are relatively few in
numbers, and need the votes of the old-time Republicans -- most of whom are not even
aware of the take-over. Yes, so many people are so easily fooled.

I believe the Neocon leadership has a high percentage of sociopaths. But the
majority of those who vote "Republican," as stated above, aren't even aware of
what's going on. Not all who vote for the Neocons are sociopaths.

word, and can also involve cheating people out of their property and money.

29. You apparently also don't understand the full meaning of the
word "sociopath." It is one of the personality disorders. Al Capone was
a sociopath. That should explain it more graphically.

31. In my other posts I have every now and then stated that
sociopathy was also found among members of all political parties and
professions, but perhaps fewer in number and less virulent in degree.
Politicians and corporate executives have a higher percentage of
them than in most other professions.

Anything that is progressive or good for society/ecosystems is automatically hounded/destroyed by the GOP - they know no other way to exist. It is the way their parents brought them up to believe in 'Might makes Right' and no one deserves charity, even though they swear to love a man that preached to give away all your things and others would take care of you.

35. You are correct. These are some of the traits of the
"anti-social personality disorder," or sociopathy. These people
are sick. They can't help being the way they are. But they do
harm people. And other people also have the right to be
protected from them.

And sociopaths certainly should not hold positions where they
have authority and power over others. We are seeing how much
damage they are doing to our country. All we need do is to
observe the bad ones in Congress.

40. I believe the RW is taking steps
to retard the economic recovery. Their motive for this is by regaining power they will find new opportunities to loot the nation. One way they will accomplish this is by starting new wars, probably in Iran but possibly also with North Korea. Of course they will once again claim these wars, like tax cuts, will "pay for themselves".
