6. Birdwatchers, I would like some help in identifying a bird.
I saw it in my garden one evening last week. This bird appears at first to be mostly black with maybe a shade of gray here and there and some white. It is a fairly slender, long bird with two long black tails. When it opens its tails, you see a strikingly beautiful white stripe in the middle of each tail which stretches the entire length of the tail. When this bird fully opened its wings, I saw a beautiful (again very striking) white spot in the middle of each wing.

I live in Los Angeles, CA. Any idea what bird this is? I can't seem to find pictures of black birds with open wings and an open tail. The bird opened the wings, closed them and then opened the tail and closed it.

I have lots of pots and things with plants and worms in them. I had just watered and thought the bird came for the water and maybe some seeds or worms.
