Labor singer/songwriter Anne Feeney is hospitalized in Pittsburgh. In one of her “fellow traveler’s” emails, Anne said she’s in Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh after a tumor was found that’s seriously affecting both a lung and her heart. She’s canceled her current concert tour. Those in the labor movement who know Anne and her music are rallying in support to send her get-well wishes and financial help. She says even in the best -case scenario she’s likely to be off work and in recovery for at least six months. Decades ago Anne Feeney left a career as a trial attorney to live her dream of being a labor folksinger. Since then she’s toured every year, doing some 200 concerts a year all over the U.S., in Canada and parts of Europe. She’s an outspoken labor activist who uses the power of her music in the struggle for worker justice. Labor troubadour Utah Phillips called her the best labor singer in the U.S. To send donations to help Anne pay medical expenses, use Paypal to send money to: getwellanne@annefeeney.com
