State Sen. Jack Harper wants Gov. Jan Brewer to call lawmakers into a special session so they can authorize the creation of an armed volunteer force to patrol the border.

In an early version of Harper's plan, legislators would be "exempted" from volunteer duty. The opposite should be true. The governor should be required to lead Arizona troops, and all lawmakers should be required to serve.

Then, after our elected officials are forced to abandon the Capitol (where laws are made) and head for the border, the rest of us could focus on ensuring a bright future for Arizona by answering one all-important question:

How can we keep them there?

1. Hey why not? They are barreling their way back to the good ole days

y'know...the cowboy days.. Deputize the posse & Ride!...round'em up, shoot'em up..

These folks have the same mentality that drives the Taliban to "punish" wayward women who dare to show a flash of skin at the ankle or wrist..or the really daring ones who think girls should be educated..the nerve of those heretical people...thinking that wimminfolk can do more than birth young'uns..

The righties want (probably pray daily for) someone to get shot..they probably prefer that it be one of their own to be "martyred" , so they can prove once & for all how dangerous these wannabee tree-trimmers/nannies/waiters/cooks/roofers are:(
