Gulf of Mexico Oil Production Would Secure Company's $20 Billion Recovery Plan

The Obama administration and BP PLC are close to a deal to use future revenues from the oil giant's Gulf of Mexico operations to guarantee its $20 billion cleanup and compensation fund, a move that would give both sides an incentive to continue production in the Gulf, scene of the U.S.'s worst-ever offshore oil spill.

5. Nobody going to prison could be argued.
But you have to let out everyone currently in prison, heh, and some see that as what is being done, only way to have justice logically.

Although I do believe in justice, just not two tier justice or targeted justice. I also believe in mercy, but for better reasons not assumed status.

9. That's how the taxpayer will end up paying for it.
That oil belongs to the United States (us)and BP is going to use our own national treasure to compensate for their mess.

Where is the fucking accountability??

10. fantastic...now let's all give a big "thanks!" to BP
For their excellent handling of the unfortunate natural disaster at the Macondo well site, and for all the new jobs they've created what with the cleanup effort, as well as the assured continued off-shore drilling, now that we've seen that even the "worst" of oil spills have no discernable impact on the environment. Drill baby drill!
