China has a coal plant event (17 killed)
"BEIJING — An explosion ripped through a workers' dormitory area and killed at least 17 people Saturday at a coal mine in a city in northern China notorious for mining disasters.

The state-run Xinhua News Agency said another seven people were seriously injured in the 2 a.m. blast at the Liugou mine in Linfen city in the northern province of Shanxi. The report cited a senior official with the mine's owner, the Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co. Ltd.

The official told Xinhua that explosives had been hidden illegally in the area and that police had detained one suspect."

2. That distinction probably isn't of much interest to 17 Chinese families
Looking for 'uranium mining fatalities', I found one in May in Utah. Certainly a far cry from the thousands who die every year in coal mines, isn't it?

3. Touche
And in answer to your pop quiz, my guess would be: one results in a blown fuse, the other results in blown up people?
