Alvin Greene, the from-out-of-nowhere Democratic candidate for Senate in South Carolina, was indicted Friday on a felony charge of showing pornography to a female college student.
Court records obtained by The Associated Press show a grand jury handed down the indictment for allegedly disseminating, procuring or promoting obscenity. Greene also faces a misdemeanor charge of communicating obscene materials to a person without consent.
Greene, 32, was arrested in November after police said he approached the young woman in a computer lab at the University of South Carolina. Police said he showed her obscene photos on the Internet, then tried to talk her into taking him to her dorm room.
Greene has not entered a plea, the AP said. He has not commented on Friday's indictment and has refused to talk about the accusations in interviews.
