LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Democratic U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth lashed out at President Barack Obama's economic team Thursday, saying they show more concern for Wall Street than average Americans in a blunt election-year assessment from an Obama loyalist frustrated by a tepid economic recovery.

What started out as a bashing of Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell by union activists, who pressed for more public transportation projects, shifted gears briefly when Yarmuth took aim at Obama's inner circle of economic aides.

"I'm not real happy with our economic team in the White House," Yarmuth said. "They think it's more important that Goldman Sachs make money than that you make money. And that's where we've got to change the attitude of this country."

Afterward, Yarmuth lamented "a sense of floundering and indecisiveness" by Obama's administration in trying to revitalize the economy from a deep recession causing stubbornly high unemployment.

"I think we have an opportunity to really regain the confidence of the American people if we show here's where we're going to go and why," Yarmuth said in an interview. "I don't think the administration's done that yet."

We have a punchers chance for the Senate seat too, unfortunately the smaller cities and rural areas aren't as reasonable as Louisville or even Lexington.

U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth is starting his second re-election bid with a 23-point lead over his nearest challenger, Republican Todd Lally, a new cn|2 Poll on Kentucky’s 3rd Congressional District shows.

The two-term congressman, who was first elected in 2006, received support from  52.1 percent of respondents compared to Lally’s 28.9 percent.
About 1.4% picked independent candidate Michael Hansen  and 0.4% said they’d vote for Libertarian candidate Ed Martin. Another 17% enter the fall undecided.

The survey of 502 likely voters in Jefferson County was conducted Aug. 9 and 10 by interviewers from Braun Research Inc., a Princeton, N.J., firm. It has a margin of error of 4.4 percentage points. Click here to look at the detailed results and the cross-tabs.

Yarmuth said in a phone interview that the poll numbers were “encouraging.”

Obama is less popular in Kentucky than he is Nationally.
It's a red state, so of course it pays to be Anti-all things Obama.

22. While that has some possible merit. You're off base here. Obama won in the 3rd district

by more than the national average. 56% Obama is not teabag central and John is no conservadem trying to get by pretending he is a Republican.

He maybe would be passing out ammo by joining the progressive caucus at least until he is more established after all those Northup (Corporate whore and Bush lackey) terms but voting with them for the most part is okay.
