Three arrests, no violence at National Socialist rally

KNOXVILLE — Swastikas flew on the Knox County courthouse lawn today as a National Socialist group rallied against illegal immigration. “This is part of our Stand in The South,” said Jeff Schoep, commander of the Detroit-based National Socialist Movement. “It’s about the survival of America.”

About 50-60 participants marched from Market Square to the courthouse, heckled by more than 100 counter-protesters and surrounded by 400-500 police. The march began around 3 p.m. Members headed home just before 5 p.m.

The rally wrapped up with three arrests, Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said. Names weren’t immediately available.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups, characterizes the National Social Movement as a neo-Nazi organization. The group prefers the term “national socialists.” According to NSM’s web site, one of the group’s central tenets is the prevention of all “nonwhite immigration” and the removal of all nonwhites from the U.S., “peacefully or by force.”...

3. I saw that Herrington guy (#14 iirc) leading a march with a chant

"No n*****s, no Jews / the Mexicans must go too" and younger people rushed up to him and changed the chant to something less obviously hateful. It was in a film clip Laura played last Spring.

I hope the police bill these @ssholes for the security detail.

but "National Socialist German Worker's Party" (founded in 1920) became the Nazi party under Hitler, also known as NSDAP, or National Sozialistische Deutsches Arbeites Partei (spelling?)
