I just got push polled and I feel dirty...

We've got a rather messy state race going on here between Tony Shipley and Nathan Vaughn. I've met Shipley and the man is a moron.

They were doing a familiar bit. One of the questions was if Nathan Vaughn voted against English only driving exams would it make you less likely or more likely to vote for him. There was a bit about guns in bars and the Obama agenda.

It was a young girl on the phone and I wasn't going to bust her chops for doing her job. I told her what I thought of Shipley and the republicans. She laughed and I don't know if that was a good thing or not.

The pay isn't that great and half the time you get yelled at or hung up on. The girl is reading from a computer and there was no sense busting her chops.

She's not making policy and she has nothing to do with writing the polls in the first place. All she is doing is earning a living. There are few enough jobs around here as it is and I'm not going to punish someone who absolutely has no say about how these polls are handled.

In other words, I'd rather yell at the boss who is responsible for the poll rather than some girl who is reading from a computer screen.

They are reading from a screen. They have been PAID to spew lies and nonsense.

The fact that the person on the phone doing it is clueless is no less offensive.

In fact ... it it worse. I can chose to watch Fox, or not. But most people answer the phone. This is an overt attempt to PUSH (Push-poll) BS that is stupid.

Any person that calls my house to push nonsense, gets an intellectual smack in the face. I don't care if they are paid and clueless or not.

In fact, I hope they QUIT because of me.

I told the girl what kind of poll it was, but I wasn't going to be rude or mean about it. There's no point.

Jobs are tough to find in this rotten economy and for all I know this girl needed a job to put food on the table. She may have a family for all we know. Hell, this may have been the only job she could find wherever she's at.

Those "bunnies" on Faux noise get paid a lot more money than this girl. In fact, they probably get a good six figure salary for whatever it is they do on TV. They've got people who work for them to take the crap that a lot of us dish out at people like those on Faux.

I do care about the people who are at the bottom of the ladder like this girl is. They're the ones who catch all the garbage that gets flung at them while the people at the top, like the dumbass who wrote this poll, have the luxury of not having to deal with the rest of us who are trying to make it from one paycheck to the next.

Why I always look at a poll and say, "but what was the exact question asked"?

I just saw a poll sent out by a RW coworker: Should we put a Mosque and Islamic super center at Ground Zero? 96% say no. Well, look at that question. If I was not for my 10 votes, it would probably be 100% say no. I would say no if I didn't see with disgust where that was going. No, WE shouldn't put it there. Now in all fairness, ask me if I think that THEY should be able to.
