I can't believe how much he's deteriorated. He's near impossible to listen to. It's not just the meandering and such, but he stutters and slurs his words (maybe some of that is from the deafness) and he frequently doesn't even complete a sentence before just going off on another thought.

If my dad is any indication, his audience don't listen to what he says, anyway. My dad hears exactly what he wants to hear from that show, whether Rush actually says it or not. I guess that makes it pretty easy to ignore the terrible presentation.
