I recently asked what it would take to really piss us off. If this mosque mania doesn't do it,

Yes, I understood this is a nonsensical, false, made-up-for-TV issue, but so was "flip-flop, flip-flop". And, I believe, the screamers and haters that now control the GOP have decided that this is their "flip-flop" equivalent for this fall's elections: "No mosque at Ground Zero!"

And, we need to keep a couple of simple truths in mind as we consider how to respond to this.

First, this is the non-issue that the Republicans have chosen to shield them from the fact that they don't have a plan or even a clue as to what our national foreign or domestic policy should be as we begin the second decade of the 21st century. It is the wedge they plan to hammer on to further divide the country for their political and economic gain.

Second, every single one of the people who solemnly stands before the cameras and microphones to decry "the president's support for building a mosque at Ground Zero" is a LYING SON-OF-A-BITCH and is due no respect, no consideration and no quarter. Nothing should be considered off-limits in opposing these scum-sucking bastards---NOTHING!

And, in my opinion, this whole past weekend has clarified our situation for us, internally. We either elect Democrats, even if we aren't too proud of some of them, or we abandon the field to the vicious opportunists who are seriously discussing repeal of the 14th Amendment and barring the construction of ANY mosques in the entire country.

If we aren't willing to do all we can to keep these people out of power, we should cease all pretense of being an opposition party and quietly accept government by amoral corporate pimps.
