like the Gay Marriage issue or is it a lost cause?

In 2004 a majority of Americans were against gay marriage and this helped Bush in the election. In 2010 a majority support gay marriage.

1. It should be a non issue
There's really nothing there. I'll be happy when there's a real issue to dicuss.
Gay marraige should not be an issue either.

7. This is the most boring "scandal" in a very, very long time.
I can't believe how stupid people are. It's not really a mosque. It's a community center. I wonder whether any other religions have community centers in the area. What ethnicity/religion predominates in the area around 9/11? Is there some reason to establish a Muslim community center there?

I'm just curious. No one should be objecting to this. Mormons go house to house, after all. So do Jehovah's Witness members. That's much more burdensome on the religious sensibilities of people who are not of their religion, I think. Those house-to-house proselytizers are really intrusive, obnoxious.

The press loves a good hate story like this
but it doesn't have a long shelf life. No one will be talking about it on Nov 2 regardless of the conclusion.

3. Personally I see a few things that could emerge from this story.
One is the way the funds were raised internationally and the way the project was described to those who contributed funds. Second is the views of the Imam in question.

I have a feeling Obama knows the downside of future revelations and that is why he volunteered that he was not commenting on the wisdom of the location.

4. It's not about the mosque
The GOP has to have something to distract their followers to keep them from realizing how badly their politicians have done. They have said no to practically every piece of legislation the democrats have tried to pass. The biggie is the jobs issue. Since they can't produce, they do what they always do........distract.

6. It'll probably be repeated as a pint in case
by those candidates trying to create a wedge issue toward more devisiveness...
