1. the filibuster is a minority power
we wont always be the majority
we might want the filibuster in the future
like next january

3. It's anti-democratic, isn't it.
Why does a Senate rule trump a constitutional majority? Even if we're out of power in January, isn't this just wrong?

7. It has been a tool of the GOP.
When in the minority, the Dems didn't use it successfully -- after 2002, they were too timid to do so.

It is anti-democratic. And unlike the Bill of Rights and other such, which should not be subject to the current majority, an elected representative body should work on principles of democracy.

If the Dems are in the minority in the Senate in January, it will be largely because of the existence of the filibuster for the past two years.

It needs to be done away with once and for all.

5. Bush was a lame duck because of Filibuster.

The table might turn sooner. Repub might take senate back in 2012. You want to get rid of filibuster just in time for a republican right wing nut president?
