ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - Congressman Russ Carnahan's South St. Louis campaign headquarters has been broken into. A small fire was set by the intruder. One man is in custody for the arson attempt, but details remain sketchy as to his motive.
Congressman Carnahan's campaign office is in south city, near Chippewa and River Des Peres Boulevard.
Someone called 911 at 2:20 Tuesday morning. They heard breaking glass and smelled smoke coming from the back of his office.
Firefighters and police came and put out the small fire. There was not much damage, but it has been ruled an arson.
There's been an arrest. Police will only say they have a white male in custody. He is not yet charged and we do not know his name, or his age, or what his motivation could have been.
