Cenk was debating some guy about the mosque, and the guy mentioned polls where 70% opposed it. Cenk answered, we're supposed to oppose the mosque because 70% of Americans are ignorant? Kind of rough, but Cenk's from a Muslim background and a lot of the opposition is at least prejudiced, if not outright bigoted. The point is that there's something wrong with so many people being opposed. Almost everyone is accepting those poll numbers as normal. All hail the great American public opinion.
Pelosi came out and said, who's ginning up this opposition and what for? It's the same point. This whole thing could have happened differently. If not for some politically motivated efforts, that mosque could have been built with no one caring about it one way or the other. They could have taken a poll where just the anti-Muslim backwash opposed it. Maybe 20%.
A lot of news reports are saying she called for an investigation. That's not true. She's saying we should look at it. That means the media. That means when reporting on that 70%, or public opinion in general, asking why it is, and does it make any sense for them to oppose it so strongly. Are they thinking straight? Are they being misled?
