although I do agree that angry arguments have little value, sometimes when I am provoked I think on things more.
And if someone has a different view then me, and they can not discuss it, then they have to be provoked either to show me why I am wrong or learn why they are wrong. Since the provoking can get some thought on a topic.
Basically the concept of not doing that can only be defended if someone can have a view that is wrong because they are more special then someone else.
Unless you are talking about something else.
I think it would be wrong to let someone go through life with wrong views, including me, so think creating the thinking on topics, either in me, or others is a good thing.
Although you touch on a concept said by Dr. Who, do we have the right to let them feel? Then they will see all they are. That is a counter arguement to that, and depends if they have the ability to make a difference or if they are currently hurting someone.
If someone is doing little harm, and could not help anyone, then letting them coast with less then best ideas, is not that damaging, but if people are hurting people, or have the ability to help people then the pain of empathy and conscious that can sometimes happen, is less then both the help and reward from empathy.
So you don't show a person that is poor with many things on there mind pictures of starving people asking for money, but you could show them to people with more time to think on those issues, or with resources. Although sometimes to reach people with resources, everyone has to see them.
