I decided to actually do some research, OUTSIDE of what most people are using now, the current trumped up controversy that is inflamed by the MSM.
So what the hell, guess what, they have a website. Why don't those who oppose the building of this community center
visit it?
It seems rather, how shall I say, uhm, non-controversial? I simply don't understand the opposition to this community center and worship area, first off, its going to be built in Lower Manhattan, one of the most built up places on the entire planet. Its purpose is to serve the needs of the entire community there, regardless of religion, and there's damn near no place in Lower Manhattan that isn't a stone's throw from Ground Zero. They are trying to serve a neighborhood there, as I said its built up, where I live a neighborhood extends for miles(suburbia), where they live it extends for blocks, and not too many of them.
In addition, the Imam who is one of the leaders of the project is not so controversial himself, regardless of what the media has tried to portray him as some sort of radical. Holy shit a religious leader preaching tolerance, respect and peace? Burn him! :eyes:
This isn't even really a freedom of religion issue, it seems to me to be a perfect example of manufactured outrage, over what is, when all is said and done, a non-issue. Its like the opponents never looked at a map of New York city.
