I didn't think it was possible, but the radical right is getting even more insane. Sarah Palin defending Dr. Laura's racist rant, the AFA calling for forced conversion of Muslims... I seriously believe that some of these people aren't going to be happy until they start some attempt at ethnic cleansing or the political equivalent thereof. The list of "isolated" incidents of violence from the right over the last 18 months is getting too long to remember now: Scott Roeder, Jim David Adkisson, Joseph Stack, John Patrick Bedell, James Von Brunn, Byron Williams, Richard Poplawski... I'm probably missing some. And yet despite the mounting evidence that they're encouraging people to violence, the radical right keeps turning up the heat. Being a prominent Dem in a highly Republican area, it makes me extremely glad to be well armed.

3. No not MORE insane..they are as crazed as ever

they are just coming out of hiding. I have been watching them for years, sometimes from uncomfortably close up. I have been in several of those cult churches, not as a member since I only attended each several times and realised they are playing with fire. My partner has observed it too.

Many have armories in their basements or some shed out back. They are just waiting for the time to start killing gays, jews, blacks...same program just a bit different rhetoric.
DUers time to arm up, I don't care that you don't like guns..I don't in particular, but have bought guns and learned safety as a kid. JIC I ain't lookin for trouble, but it may come calling. I have had to defend my home and family with a 12g from these kreestians before.

with various groups planning the best ways to kill us and ours. Many here think they are just fat little kids in teh basement, but there are a lot of very seriously crazy people out there looking for the right leader and the right moment to go to war.

7. Well, here in my part of Lost Angeles, we are glad to have our Middle Eastern

immigrants as a large part of the population. They are a mixed bag of Christians, Jews, and Muslims, BTW, and nobody really gives a hoot. A new Persian bakery just opened up down the street, with signs ONLY IN ARABIC, lol, but anybody can walk in and buy the most delicious baked-while-you-stand-there flatbreads.

A progrom would get laughed out of this community. Silly haters.

10. There is a mosque two blocks from my house.

It primarily serves the Somali refugee community. Aside from mild-to-moderate traffic issues on Friday evenings there have been no problems, nor do I anticipate any. (It is located in a converted commercial building with inadequate parking.) My zip code is the most ethnically diverse areas in the country. It has historically been about 1/3 African-American, 1/3 Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Filipino) and 1/3 white. Now we have new immigrants and refugees from SE Asia (Laotian, Cambodian, Vietnamese), East and West Africa, Russia and Ukraine (I've probably missed a few groups). Over 20 different languages spoken in homes. Nobody here would look kindly on any kind of pogrom, although many of the refugees are so war-traumatized they avoid contact with the police or other government officials as a matter of course. I just don't get the hate. Sure, the first generation clings to the "old-country" customs and food, but already their kids speak fluent American English and behave like most American kids. Acculturation is well on its way.
