1. The Dems, who have a majority in Congress, still kowtowing to the Right.

In my opinion the EIGHT years of Bush's deregulation of the oil industry, lack of oversight by the MMS, rubber stamping drilling permits that contained no real spill clean-up back up plan, etc. did contribute to the mess we're in now.

I notice you left off the choice "the failure of the president to forcefully lead on many key issues."

His lack of leadership is what I'm most concerned about. How he could fall for the GOP's trap on deficit reduction and refuse to spend more to create jobs now is unfathomable. His lack of leadership on gay issues, on war issues, on jobs, on Bushco wrongdoings, on the drug war, and on Wall Street has been appalling. He's the guy who made promises he hasn't kept, or even attempted to keep.

I'm always mad at the right wing, at their toads and at their spokespeople. I don't expect anything of them. I do expect elected Democrats to act as if they are loyal to the ideals of Democrats, from the president down to the local officials.
