1. But should he spend any more time in jail than those 7 tobacco company CEOs who lied?

They had testified before Congress under oath that cigarette smoking was not addictive or harmful, when their own files revealed they knew about the toxic effects. Yet, none spent a day in jail. Equal treatment before the law means Clemons walks!

2. I agree... or all those Bush* officials who lied... Alberto Gonzalez...

is the first that comes to mind, but there were countless...

At least Clemons didn't hurt countless thousands or millions with his actions, right? Why not go after the tobacco CEOs-- the ones who lied us into Iraq (among other things).... I just don't get it..

3. that's the first thing i thought when i heard this. how the hell can you charge this guy with

lying to congress when we have watched gonzales and so many others lie right to your faces and had nothing done. these double standards are ridiculous and a big problem.

6. Which was Obama's first and, possibly, "fatal" error!

Had he pursued investigations against members of the Bush administration, he would have been true to his Progressive base and he would have faced no more or less opposition from Congressional Republicans.

7. He also would have established his respect for the rule of law. instead, he has clearly,

by his inaction, defined that there are people who are above the law/Constitution. Shame on him.

8. And, he got nothing for it! It did not stop Cheney's constant bashing, nor did he receive any

9. I don't believe for one second that the Republicans mind a great deal of what he's doing because

much of it benefits their corporate sponsors. IMHO, they are making a show for their "base".
