I didn't donate tonight because of Skinner's thread, I did because of my friends (and enemies) here

[The Straight Story]

I don't talk to Skinner usually. Don't remember the last time I saw him in one of my threads. He is a busy guy of course trying to keep this place running.

Day in and out, through the worst things in my life, folks here have let me rant.

Sometimes we fight like hell over things and insults fly (lord knows I have not always been as gentle as I wished).

But you have been there for me - and not just me. But so many others. We can fight over Obama and his policies, smoking in bars, guns, etc and so - but every time a DU'er needs us we are there. Words of love, emails, prayers, good thoughts, phone calls, etc.

We are more than a website, we are a community (and as long as it does not become like a HOA I am all for it :rofl: ).

If you cannot donate right now don't sweat it, you are still a valued member here and your soothing words to many here over the years are worth more than the dollars you could spend. At the end of the day, at the end of the thread we might be on - even if we did not agree - I still see you as someone special who took the time out of your day to talk to me. Thank you.

And thanks to all my friends who got me through some really bad times.
