Dean: Democrats Will Do Better Than Expected on Nov. 2

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean predicted Sunday that Democrats will fare better than expected this November, urging them to put aside their differences and “let’s win.”

“I think we’re going to be in a lot better shape than a lot of people think on the pundit side,” Dean said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Dean said Democrats have “better candidates” than Republicans, adding that as long as the party sticks together and fights, it will win Nov. 2.

He also defended the leadership of President Barack Obama , with whom he has been known to differ on issues such as health care reform.

“We can’t get anything done if we don’t have a Democratic president and Democratic House and Democratic Senate. ... Republicans have proved that they are the party of no,” Dean said.

this whole polling, pundit and horseracing by MSM is always in favor of the right, whether it is reality or not. I cannot understand how they always side with republicans, but they do none the less. we just have to tune it out and hope that independents will not be swayed to their side through indecision.

The businesses they work for are run and owned by Republicans. Republicans are, and always will be, the party of big business. The DLC Democrats will never be able to out Republican the Republicans on this, even though they try to.

8. I would remind people of the elections in 1998 and 2000

The run-up to those elections and the trendy Georgetown Cocktail Party media CW did not match with the results that came about.

In 1998 we were told that Republicans would make massive gains because of Bill Clinton's Monica Lewinsky problems. It never materialized, and instead Democratic turnout defied expectations.

In 2000 we were told that George W. Bush would win the popular vote by 2-3% and win about 300 electoral votes. Instead, Democratic turnout exceeded expectations, Al Gore won the popular vote and Bush lost the election*.

*Although he was sworn in as president anyway on January 20, 2001 and served for 8 years.

and 30-50 House seats.
